A mid-way then we drive through the remote village for a visit the temple city of Banteay Chhmar that was accomplished during the reign of Jayavarman VII in the late 12th or early 13th century. It is worth to visit this remote small community. The temple here is a top candidate for World Heritage Status, with the ruins here is similarly to the famous Bayon with their face towers, and surrounded by an impressive 9 kilometers long wall.
Villager home-made tasty lunch will be served for you at the community office.
Continue to Battambang for 128Km, approx. 2:00 hour drive, upon arrival directly to hotel for check in. Battambang is the second-largest city, a tranquil riverside town and a small body of water. It is home to some of the best preserved French colonial architecture in the country. A short drive from the town, the scenery quickly becomes one of villages and rice paddies, offering an excellent opportunity to see authentic rural Cambodia.
The balance afternoon, you spend about an hour wandering around Phare Ponleu Selpak, literally "the Brightness of the Arts". It is a non-profit association, started in 1994 by a young group returning from refugee camps during the Cambodian civil war. The center, you will see students who are training in the classes on subjects like acrobatics, music and a variety of art disciplines. Don’t miss out on art galleries and cultural spaces at an antique wooden house that regularly exhibit the work of many of the graduates, and other artists—a lovely way of tapping into the local scene that the province is famous for! (Note: The school will be closed every weekend and public holiday.)
